A people eaten up in the inside, but looking good from the outside

The sad reality about today’s society is that many people are not a reflection, or even close to the personality they portray out here. The pressure of life is just too much, and mostly if you let it get into your mind. There are so many things that will strive to make you feel like a loser, but your perspective about this feeling determines the quality of life you live thereafter, and whether or not you achieve your goals, that is, if you have enough motivation left to set and pursue any life goals.

According to the DailyMail, an approximated 75% of the people who participated in a research admitted that a big number of people are living fake lives by making it seem more exciting than it really is, and especially so when on social media.

People will have a face for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 6 am at the gym, 9 am at work, 1 pm at lunch, 5 pm for dinner, a face while with their peers, one while with their children and so on and so forth.

While I am not saying the pressure of life is inevitable, I feel each one of us holds the key to whether or not we allow such pressure to eat into the quality of lives we have, and our personalities for that matter.

Just because your progress isn’t as fast as your peers’ is what makes you live fake while with them? What is the worst that can happen if they realize you are not where they feel you ought to be? Remember, there was a day when you began to know them, and you have no obligation not to lose them. If the time for that group of friends is up, it is up. If you can’t fit in, you can’t fit it. Walk away in peace and live with a face you can feel free to portray any day, any time, anywhere.

The problem with living a fake life is that it almost always makes the person feel inferior in comparison to other people, even when they either are not inferior in real sense, or no one else notices they are inferior, or is concerned about such inferiority.

A time has to come when people must decide to face life as it comes, put on a brave face and be themselves, notwithstanding the situations they face. There is no guarantee life will always be a smooth sail, at least not for everyone, and it is in those moments of self-doubt, disappointment and frustrations and lows that we need to be most self aware and willing to push on, while being true to ourselves.

I truly hope that as you read this, you will have a moment of reflection and acceptance of situations, and resolve to be your own self, and live as true to yourself as possible, avoiding the temptation to plunge indulge yourself in an unreal personality whereby you look okay from the outside, but in inside you are completely eaten up, but are afraid to be vulnerable lest people realize you too are subject to bad times in life. It’s your life, go through the good and bad times as you.
